Andrew S. Rancer

Argumentative & Aggressive Communication Podcast

Andrew S. Rancer is professor of communication at The University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. For more than 20 years, Dr. Rancerís research has focused on the role of argumentative and verbally aggressive communication and other personality traits across a wide variety of contexts. He has published in Communication Monographs, Human Communication Research, Communication Education, Communication Quarterly, the Journal of Intercultural Communication Research, and the Journal of Personality Assessment, among other places. He is also one of the co-authors of the widely used book Building Communication Theory published by Waveland Press and now in its 4th edition. In 2006, Dr. Rancer co-wrote Argumentative and Aggressive Communication: Theory, Research, and Application with Ted Avtgis for Sage Publications.
